FileScope P2P
 Welcome to FileScope.com - Home of the cross-platform C# Gnutella2 client

Latest Release
FileScope 0.5 is alpha software. Developers are wanted.

On Linux, simply type "make" to compile, and "make go" to run.

If you are a casual user, you should wait to download this software as there is no installer (setup utility). For brave people or developers, the whole source code is readily available.

Source Code
We offer the entire code base to FileScope for anyone who wants to use it in anyway under the GPL license (commercial, educational, personal, etc.)

Developers
If you like the excellent C# programming language and P2P technologies, you will love this project. Gnutella2 is definitely the most exciting decentralized P2P protocol out there - and it has been for a while.

  • Themeable, intuitive interface
  • Supports 4 P2P protocols (Gnutella 1, Gnutella 2, eDonkey, and OpenNap)
  • Very fast
  • Multiple tabbed searches and swarm downloading
  • Library and Chat features
  • Efficient Gnutella2 ultrapeer mode
  • Open Source (written in C#)

Is Gnutella2 Good?
Gnutella2 is the best decentralized P2P technology at present. Centralized file sharing networks like Napster or eDonkey eventually get shut down. Even if they stay up for a while, how can a user know for sure he or she is searching everyone using the same application? One cannot know. Gnutella 2 is a very efficient decentralized P2P protocol, with no individual servers to shut down. There is no investigating what hosts/servers are "good". It just works.
